Franchi for Judge Campaign off to a Good Start It was standing-room only at Don Franchi's Campaign Kick-Off Event, hosted February 10, 2008 at the Old Redwood City Courthouse. Hon. Mike Nevin (former County Supervisor and former Mayor of Daly City) enthusiastically introduced Don Franchi, candidate for Superior Court Judge. Hon. Nevin reminded Don's supporters that the County needs a judge dedicated exclusively to Family Law issues. The crowd greeted Mr. Franchi with a standing ovation and cheers of, "We Want Franchi!" Franchi's speech focused on his desire to commit himself to families, giving them fair, unbiased decisions based on experience and understanding. Franchi will strive to make family law a permanent judicial assignment, but until then, he promises to volunteer to serve in that position. Franchi formally announced Bob Cancilla, former Lieutenant of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, as his campaign manager. Franchi is supported by community leaders who include Assembly Member Gene Mullin along with mayors and council members from numerous cities County-wide. In addition to family and friends, elected officials and community leaders, including Guillermo "Memo" Morales, Trustee, San Mateo County Board of Education, Pedro Gonzalez, Mayor of South San Francisco, and many community leaders such as Paula Uccelli, Judith Uccelli, Alma Massolo, and Ginny Tilton, were also in attendance.
